Antenatal Classes

I have been working really hard behind the scenes, to put together a special course of alternative antenatal classes. These will cover the usual topics such as stages of labour, places to birth, medical interventions, and "pain relief", but with a special focus on how to support physiological birth, your birthing rights, informed choices, evidence behind interventions, and empowering birth partners as well as the Mamas.
Virtual Doula
As your virtual birth doula, I will provide continuous emotional and physical support during pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum via the phone. This can be by text, phone call and video call. I will help you navigate the birthing process, advising you on your birth rights, providing you with balanced information so you can make informed choices for you and your baby. This looks different for each woman - from planned bellybirths to midwife assisted homebirths and everything inbetween.
Birth Doula
As your birth doula, I will provide continuous emotional and physical support during pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum. This looks different for each woman - from planned bellybirths to midwife assisted homebirths and everything inbetween.
Birth Circle
In collaboration with Kate the Doula, we hold monthly Birth Circles at my Caffi in Llanaelhaearn, Gwynedd. This free women's circle is kept small and intimate, starting with a cacao ceremony and intention setting. We then hold space for women to tell their past birth experiences without judgement. As mothers and doulas we feel strongly that having the opportunity to do this, feeling held and heard outside of the medical setting, is important to our wellbeing and healing.
Freebirth Support
For women who are thinking about or planning for a freebirth, and would like virtual support only, I can offer individual video calls or full pregnancy and birth support. After having my own freebirth in March 2023, I am very aware of and knowledgeable about the legalities, practicalities and unique challenges of freebirth. When the people around you are not supportive of freebirth, it can be really beneficial to have a friendly face to talk through your plans with, without judgment
Mother Blessings
A mother blessing is an intimate alternative to the baby showers that have become increasingly popular in western society. Inspired by the ancient Navajo ceremonies called blessing ways, a mother blessing shifts the focus from showering baby with gifts to showering the mum-to-be with love, support and encouragement ahead of her birth. My aim from hosting this event is to make Mama feel really loved and supported by her friends and family, empowering her for her upcoming birth.
